Three easy DIY Mexican sauces [Vegan/Gluten-Free]

I promise that making a quick salsa or guacamole is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Why go for store bought when you can whip it up at home in under 15 mins?

Here are three easy peasy lemon squeezy recipes that will seriously spice up your bowl of tortilla chips.

Chunky Chipotle salsa:

  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup white onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chipotle pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, juiced

Directions: Place all the ingredients into an food processor and pulse very slowly for a thickly coursed salsa. *Do not puree*


Simple Guacamole 

  • 3 avocados
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tomato, diced (optional)

Directions: Mash avocado with a fork until almost smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until well combined. Chill for 1 hour, and serve.
